Congratulations to the Jai, Cameron and Harry who all compete at the regional schools combined events representing Warwickshire. In the Junior boys pentathlon competition Warwickshire were overall winners finishing over 1300 points ahead of the next team. Jai led the individual competition competition throughout achieving 4 event PBs (Shot Putt:10.15m;hurdles 11.7s;High Jump 1.61m; Long Jump 5.58m) and another pb with his overall pentathlon score of 2859 which is also a new club record and 4th best result in the UK so far this year.

Cameron and Harry competed in the Intermediary boys Octathlon which includes 8 events over 2 days. Whilst shot and javelin events proved a challenge for Cameron, solid performances in hurdles, discus and high jump kept him in contention for a podium place. PBs in long jump, 400m and 1500m secured 3rd place on the day. It was Harry’s first time representing Warwickshire for athletics and a great experience to compete in combined events at that level. He finished the two days with a strong run in the 1500m and in 13th position overall. Well done boys.

Both Jai and Cameron have now qualified for the National finals in Bedford in September.
