After 100 miles and over 10 hours of running just four minutes separated the first two teams in this years Cotswold Hilly 100 relay.
Starting at 07:00 at the Clock Tower in Stratford the Men’s race was always going to be a battle by the two strongest teams as they negotiated the varying terrain and individual distances (of approx. 10 miles) for each of the 10 team members. Starting off quite cool for this time of year the weather never got too hot and had a gentle breeze throughout.
Leamington Cycling & Athletic Club led from the start and opened up a time gap on Kenilworth Runners which stretched to over 16 minutes at one stage before coming down to just 90 seconds with five miles left to run.

Captain Phil Gould had run the Warwickshire County Track 1500m the day before. Hestill mustered the strength in final 5 miles to extend lead to finish in first a a time 10 hours, 16.43 (16 minutes quicker than 2018)
