On 21st January I (Finn) took part in a pole vault competition in Cardiff with my brother (Cameron).

On my first jump I landed hard on the bar and thought I would no height but I pulled it back and cleared 1.22m. Then I cleared 1.37m, 1.52m and 1.67m all on the first try. It was my first ever competition and I was the only under 11 taking part. The oldest person in my group was 74 years old.

My older brother Cameron was competing as an under 17 and he jumped a pb of 3.42m. I now have the LCAC u11 club pole vault record and Cameron has the u17 club record too.

I really enjoyed my day in Cardiff.

(Thanks Finn for a great blog entry)
