Away from the cross country the indoor track and field season has started, with the club Pole Vaults took a trip up the M6 to Manchester.

An exciting start to the day for Lauren u15 and Alys u17 both breaking club record and getting PBs.

Turning 11 in the week Finn established a new u13 pole vault record, which would have been higher record and PB if the pole hadn’t knocked off the bar off, oops. His brother Camron also had a great season opener, jumping his second highest ever vault at 3.86m.

Coach Katharine comments, ‘A strong start to the season all round. They’ll all worked really hard over the winter ,so good to see it paying off ‘

Also up the M6 but this time in Birmingham, LCAC throws made a good start to 2019  at the 2nd MCAA Indoor Open. New member Archie Small, U17m threw 31.42m in hammer at his very first competition. Great start with lots more to come.

In javelin Robin Greenwood threw 27.5m for the U15g with Lauren getting 33.98m in the U20w. Matthew Ashbourne got a throw of 31.78m in the U17m javelin competition. Conditions were a lot better than this time last year.

Coach David also pleased with winter training so far 🙂 Roll on the Summer.
