At Leamington Juniors we coach children Year 2 to year 7. Children are able to train Tuesday or Thursday. Children who are year 6+ can train twice week with a event group coach (Endurance running, Speed and Agility, Throwing or Jumping all session are based on capacity of the groups)

Training groups are organised into age not ability.

In years 2&3 as U9s

We coach children basic movement skills of running, jumping and throwing, as well as developing good balance, agility and coordination by playing games. Children also learn track etiquette, working as a team and to increase their love of sport.

In years 4&5 as U11s

Leamington C&AC children will develop running for speed and endurance, different modes of jumping and throwing using age appropriate athlete equipment. Children continue to develop relay skills, understanding safety at the Track and can start to compete at this age.

In years 6&7 as U13s

We help children become more confident in running faster and over greater distances, over obstacles and working as a team.

Children practice all 4 jumps and throws, using the correct equipment and weights for their age group.

We encourage all children to compare their performances with previous ones, demonstrate improvement and the desire to achieve and do their best.

It was the highlight of my 8 year olds summer and he’ll definitely be back- Chloe.S

A big ‘thank you’ to Mary, Dave and all the coaching staff for another BRILLIANT athletics camp. The girls absolutely loved it and it’s been wonderful to see how their enthusiasm and enjoyment has grown. Mila now does the Parkrun every week and has even started running with our dog, Patch, in the mornings. Frankie is doing her best to keep up, despite much shorter legs!

Again, many thanks for all the time /  effort you have put into this – it has truly transformed junior athletics at the Club. – Tom F
