Rose Winship
The club is saddened to hear that Rose Winship, former Head of Cultural Services at Warwick District Council, died peacefully in her sleep in Myton Hospice at 5am on Saturday 21st December.
She was well known by many club members but for those of you who did not know her, Rose worked for Warwick District Council for all her working life, rising from part-time, casual lifeguard to the Head of Cultural Services before retiring soon after the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where she had led the Council’s hosting of the bowls and road cycling events.
Rose was completely dedicated to providing services to local people and the sports, leisure and arts legacy she has left in the District is huge and many residents, including LCAC members, will enjoy these activities in the District as a result of her work for many years to come. The club has many reasons to be grateful of the support given by Rose and her team over many years.
We send our condolences to her family and friends.
